World Am Q School Event Kicks Off Monday in Myrtle Beach

A full field of 324 golfers from throughout the country teed it up Monday in Myrtle Beach for the World Amateur Q School, in their quest for more than $10,000 in prizes including complimentary and discounted entries into the 2021 World Amateur Handicap Championship later this year.

Prizes for this event are awarded in the form of credits for entry into the 2021 Myrtle Beach World Am, with the first-place finisher earning a full complimentary entry into the world’s largest golf tournament, to be contested Aug. 30 – Sept. 3 and including players with indexes ranging from scratch golfers to 36 handicaps. The second-place World Am Q School finisher earns a $300 credit, a $250 credit is awarded for third place, and credits ranging from $200 to $50 are awarded to the fourth- through 10th-place finishers.

Eagle NestPine Lakes and The Pearl hosted Monday’s first-round action. Burning RidgePrestwick and The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort welcome golfers for second-round play Tuesday, while Wednesday’s final round will be contested at CaledoniaCarolina National and Wachesaw Plantation East.
