Hi from Myrtle Beach SC!!! We’re having exceptionally beautiful and warm weather this week. If you live here or are just visiting, get out and enjoy a round of golf (or a golf lesson). "The Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation will host the second annual Family Golf Day at Tupelo Bay Golf Center in Garden City, South Carolina on Saturday, October 15, 2011. The day will feature an 18-hole Mini-Golf tournament and a 9-hole Par 3 tournament open to junior golfers of all ages along with family and friends.
The Mini-Golf event starts at 1:00 p.m. and costs $5 per player. The Par 3 tournament, a two person team competition, starts at 3:00PM and costs $10 per player. All players may compete in either tournament or both.
If you need a partner for the Par 3 tournament, you will be paired with a fellow competitor. Junior age divisions are 8 and under, 9-12 years, and 13 and older. The Par 3 event will also have an Adults/Juniors division. Prizes will be awarded to top three finishers in each division and to contest winners for Most Holes-In-One and Closest-To-The-Pin. At 5:00 pm there will be complimentary food and beverages in the Sand Trap Room at Tupelo Bay.
Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation Director Russ Brown said, “We are fortunate to have the support of Tupelo Bay and many local businesses to bring families together and have some fun playing golf.”
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide affordable opportunities for junior golfers of all ages to compete in local tournaments and receive quality golf instruction on a year round basis."
