"I attended the Classic Swing Golf School at Legends last month, and enjoyed it. Without taking a poll, my impression was that other attendees were also happy with the experience.
The goal of the program is not to completely redo the swing in the class, but to provide fundamentals of things to work on later, geared to each student. (I'm paraphrasing here.) I would suggest this is a reasonable and realistic goal. There aren't a lot of quick fixes in the golf swing.
The basic option is three mornings of instruction (4 hours, with 4.5 hours on the last day). There are a variety of other options available, including private lessons, so you might want to investigate what would work best for you. The program is well organised to make sure that your time is all constructively used (no waiting).
There were about ten students in my session, and four instructors in addition to Ted Frick, so we each got enough teacher time. There were a variety of skill levels in the class, and I got a sense that teaching was tailored to each students needs. For example, they have a variety of teaching aids, but they only guided me to ones appropriate for my swing flaws (well, the major ones, otherwise I would have worked my way thru the complete set.)
All the teachers "sing from the same song book" so instruction is consistent. I found the lessons they were giving were simple enough to understand ( they avoid technical or esoteric terminology).
Program covers putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing, as well as bunker play.
We were video'd twice, and then they reviewed each with us. At the end, we get a DVD with both videos on it, and the discussion with the instructor as well, as a reminder to review later. There is a small book of instruction given as well, and a DVD is buyable which summarizes the basic principles they teach. Haven't bought yet, but might before I go back home. Reasonably priced.
One other feature of the program is that they do club fitting during the school, and test some of your clubs on a frequency meter. The fitting activities include hitting a variety of shafts, each tested and identified, to find an optimal frequency. Useful to have comments about the make up of the set, suitability of the club heads and shafts to the player, and general quality and consistency. It confirms what has been commented on elsewhere, that name brand sets may vary widely, even within the set. There was one lady's iron club which was as stiff as any man's club that day. .
They do club work on site, and I have confidence in its quality. I quite happily had them make adjustments to my clubs.
